Sometimes God's protection comes in the form of peace and strength in the middle of despair. Other times God's protection comes as an ending because he sees something more on the horizon that we cannot see. As a believer in Jesus, we are promised a new life covered under the protection of God in which NOTHING can separate us from His love.
When we don't have anything in us, simply be still and watch the Lord work.
The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace.
God is your refuge with everlasting arms and will thrust out the enemy.
The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say Destroy them.
The Lord will guard the feet of his saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness.
1st Samuel 2:9
He will keep the feet of his saints and the wicked shall be silent in darkness for by strength shall no man prevail.
God perfect and our refuge.
As for God his way is perfect the word of the Lord is tried he is a buckler (shield) to all those that trust in him
The Lord is my light and salvation, Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid.
David portrays the privileges of divine protection as being hidden in God’s “booth” or “shelter,” a term in parallelism with “tabernacle” or “tent.”
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me he shall set me up upon a rock.
David spoke of the Lord as his hiding place, his place of security. Though David was probably thinking mostly of safety from physical threats, God also provides safety from spiritual trouble. He delivers us from the penalty of sin.
Thou art my hiding place thou shalt preserve me from trouble thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
The Lord delivers us.
The righteous cry and the Lord heareth and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The Lord promises us that even if we stumble, if we delight in Him, we will not fall!
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall he shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
For the Lord loves justice And does not forsake His saints They are preserved forever...
For the Lord loveth judgment and forsaketh not his saints they are preserved for ever but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
God is our refuge and strength.
God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.
Call on the Lord and he will deliver you.
And call upon me in the day of trouble I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me.
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved
I pray to the God Most High, who competes HIS PURPOSE in me.
I will cry unto God most high unto God that performeth all things for me.
He is a shelter and a strong tower from the enemy.
For thou hast been a shelter for me and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
This psalm describes God’s ongoing sovereign protection of His people from the ever-present dangers and terrors which surround humanity.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress my God in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings shalt thou trust his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flieth by day Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord which is my refuge even the most High thy habitation There shall no evil befall thee neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me therefore will I deliver him I will set him on high because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me and I will answer him I will be with him in trouble I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation.
God describes the blessing He gives to those who know and love Him.
Because he hath set his love upon me therefore will I deliver him I will set him on high because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me and I will answer him I will be with him in trouble I will deliver him and honor him.
Around the clock protection!
The Lord is thy keeper the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even for evermore.
This identifies those who are true believers, who seek to know, love, and obey God and to live righteously. These covenant keepers alone can know wisdom and experience God’s protection.
For the Lord giveth wisdom out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly He keepeth the paths of judgment and preserveth the way of his saints.
The name of the LORD. This expression, found only here in Proverbs, stands for the manifest perfections of God such as faithfulness, power, mercy, and wisdom, on which the righteous rely for security.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous runneth into it and is safe.
I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation".
Behold God is my salvation I will trust and not be afraid for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song he also is become my salvation.
Be not dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you.
Fear thou not for I am with thee be not dismayed for I am thy God I will strengthen thee yea I will help thee yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
We do not need to fear for the Lord will be our helper when we are in need.
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto thee Fear not I will help thee.
I will be with you
When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee when thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
There is nothing that can be formed against us that the Lord cannot handle.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me saith the Lord.
"The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him".
The Lord is good a strong hold in the day of trouble and he knoweth them that trust in him
The Lord will protect you from the evil one.
2nd Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful who shall stablish you and keep you from evil.
God will not leave or forsake me. God’s unfailing help to keep us from fear.
Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as ye have for he hath said I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say The Lord is my helper and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him. His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness. Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.
These promises are all from God. Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone. So, as you read these, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how these promises reveal His character, purpose, plan and hope for your life and all those who are in Christ.
