Our Inheritance What a blessing it is to know that we have an inheritance in heaven. Jesus came to this earth to pay for our sins by dying on the cross.
God brought his people in and planted them on the mountain of his inheritance .
Exodus 15:17
Thou shalt bring them in and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance in the place O Lord which thou hast made for thee to dwell in in the Sanctuary O Lord which thy hands have established
He is preparing mansions for us.
John 14:2-3
In my Father s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also.
Our citizenship is in heaven.
Philippians 3:20
For our conversation is in heaven from whence also we look for the Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Father has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:12
Giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
A Heavenly Inheritance, In God's great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade .
1st Peter 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away reserved in heaven for you.
No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him. His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness. Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.
These promises are all from God. Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone. So, as you read these, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how these promises reveal His character, purpose, plan and hope for your life and all those who are in Christ.
