About Identity

The Bible tells us that our identity in Christ is part of accepting His gift of eternal life through faith. Jesus gave His life on earth and rose from the grave to conquer death and sanctify those who believe in Him. When we become followers and believers in Jesus, we lose our identity of this world and embrace our identity in Christ.

Promises on Identity

God promised that if his people would obey him fully and keep his covenant, than out of all nations they would be his treasured possession. Although the whole earth is his, they would be for him a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

Exodus 19:5-6
Now therefore if ye will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people for all the earth is mine And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and an holy nation These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Promises From The Old Testament

No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him.  His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness.  Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.

These promises are all from God.  Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone.  So, as you read these, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how these promises reveal His character, purpose, plan and hope for your life and all those who are in Christ.
