As the difficult times of the last days approach, let us stay steadfast in devotion to God and His word. May these Bible verses about the end times encourage your faith and strength.
The final victory will be the Lord's when all the earth will see Him!
Habakkuk 2:15
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink that puttest thy bottle to him and makest him drunken also that thou mayest look on their nakedness
The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age.
Matthew 24:9-14
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name s sake. And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.
No one knows the day or the hour, but he is coming.
Matthew 24:36-42
But of that day and hour knoweth no man no not the angels of heaven but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noe entered into the ark And knew not until the flood came and took them all away so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field the one shall be taken and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill the one shall be taken and the other left. Watch therefore for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
This is an amazing picture that parallels the way we will be taken out of here.
Matthew 24:37-39
But as the days of Noah were so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noe entered into the ark And knew not until the flood came and took them all away so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
He is preparing mansions for us.
John 14:2-3
In my Father s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also.
The word "receive" is very interesting in Hebrew and in Greek. It means "to take to yourself." There is a closeness - an intimacy, almost - inherent in the word.
John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also.
Peter’s sermon quoting the prophet Joel.
Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days saith God I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams
Our final victory!
1st Corinthians 15:50-52
Now this I say brethren that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold I shew you a mystery We shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed In a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed.
We are waiting for God's Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath .
1st Thessalonians 1:10
And to wait for his Son from heaven whom he raised from the dead even Jesus which delivered us from the wrath to come
The Comfort of Christ’s Coming. The word "rapture" is Latin, or "caught up" in English all of which comes from the word "harpazō" in the Greek.
1st Thessalonians 4:15-18
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
The NKJV says... "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed". The restrainer being the Holy Spirit that lives within God's people. The lawless one is the antichrist.
2nd Thessalonians 2:7-9
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work only he who now letteth will let until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders
Stay true to the faith
1st Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
Perilous Times
2nd Timothy 3:1-5
This know also that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful unholy Without natural affection trucebreakers false accusers incontinent fierce despisers of those that are good Traitors heady highminded lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof from such turn away.
We wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness.
Titus 2:13-14
Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ Who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works.
The faithful church.
Revelation 3:10-11
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold I come quickly hold that fast which thou hast that no man take thy crown.
The final age to come focuses not on a platonic ideal heaven or distant paradise but on the reality of a new earth and heaven.
Revelation 21:1-4
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying Behold the tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away.
Our future in heaven.
Revelation 22:3-5
And there shall be no more curse but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it and his servants shall serve him And they shall see his face and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there and they need no candle neither light of the sun for the Lord God giveth them light and they shall reign for ever and ever.
The Lord is coming back and he will give to us according to what we have done.
Revelation 22:12-14
And behold I come quickly and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city.
No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him. His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness. Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.
These promises are all from God. Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone. So, as you read these, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how these promises reveal His character, purpose, plan and hope for your life and all those who are in Christ.
