Anxiety, Fear, and Peace. Three very related topics combined into one. Fear causes anxiety and anxiety is the opposite of peace. It is our hope that these promises under this topic will help you rid yourself of the Anxiety and Fear and obtain Peace.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee Be strong and of a good courage be not afraid neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest
God's promise that "I will never leave you nor forsake you" is found in multiple books of the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments. With this promise, we can be assured that He is always with us.
1st Chronicles 28:20
And David said to Solomon his son Be strong and of good courage and do it fear not nor be dismayed for the Lord God even my God will be with thee he will not fail thee nor forsake thee until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.
The Lord is with you when your are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
2nd Chronicles 15:2
And he went out to meet Asa and said unto him Hear ye me Asa and all Judah and Benjamin The Lord is with you while ye be with him and if ye seek him he will be found of you but if ye forsake him he will forsake you.
The Lord is my light and salvation, Whom shall I fear?
Psalms 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid.
David portrays the privileges of divine protection as being hidden in God’s “booth” or “shelter,” a term in parallelism with “tabernacle” or “tent.”
Psalms 27:5
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me he shall set me up upon a rock.
A broken and contrite heart indicates the humility of one who has truly repented of sin.
Psalms 34:18
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
God is our refuge and strength.
Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Psalms 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved
This psalm describes God’s ongoing sovereign protection of His people from the ever-present dangers and terrors which surround humanity.
Psalms 91:1-16
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress my God in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings shalt thou trust his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flieth by day Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord which is my refuge even the most High thy habitation There shall no evil befall thee neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me therefore will I deliver him I will set him on high because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me and I will answer him I will be with him in trouble I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation.
You shall not be afraid
Psalms 91:5-6
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flieth by day Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression But a good word makes it glad
Proverbs 12:25
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop but a good word maketh it glad.
The name of the LORD. This expression, found only here in Proverbs, stands for the manifest perfections of God such as faithfulness, power, mercy, and wisdom, on which the righteous rely for security.
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous runneth into it and is safe.
We do not need to fear for the Lord will be our helper when we are in need.
Isaiah 41:13
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto thee Fear not I will help thee.
Fear Not
Isaiah 43:1
But now thus saith the Lord that created thee O Jacob and he that formed thee O Israel Fear not for I have redeemed thee I have called thee by thy name thou art mine.
I will be with you
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee when thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
In Christ and through the Holy Spirit, he has made a way to heal those who mourn over their sin and give to them the wholeness (peace).
Isaiah 57:18-19
I have seen his ways and will heal him I will lead him also and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips Peace peace to him that is far off and to him that is near saith the Lord and I will heal him.
The Lord’s blessings will result in joy for all classes of people—men and women, young and old alike. “Mourning” will be transformed into "gladness," and "sorrow" into "comfort and joy."
Jeremiah 31:13
Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance both young men and old together for I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
I will bring health and healing.
Jeremiah 33:6
Behold I will bring it health and cure and I will cure them and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord .
Jonah 2:7-9
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord and my prayer came in unto thee into thine holy temple They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving I will pay that that I have vowed Salvation is of the Lord.
"The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him".
Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good a strong hold in the day of trouble and he knoweth them that trust in him
"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing".
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty he will save he will rejoice over thee with joy he will rest in his love he will joy over thee with singing.
Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or drink. God feeds the sparrows, are you not worth more than them?
Matthew 6:25-27
Therefore I say unto you Take no thought for your life what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink nor yet for your body what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat and the body than raiment Behold the fowls of the air for they sow not neither do they reap nor gather into barns yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature
My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Since God cares for these unclean birds how much more must he care for his own people?
Luke 12:24
Consider the ravens for they neither sow nor reap which neither have storehouse nor barn and God feedeth them how much more are ye better than the fowls
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you my peace I give unto you not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.
Although we will have trouble in this world, Jesus promises us peace in him. Take heart!
John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.
God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from him.
2nd Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be God even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort Who comforteth us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Let the peace of God rule in your heart
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to the which also ye are called in one body and be ye thankful.
The Lord of peace is with you.
2nd Thessalonians 3:16
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
God did not give us a spirit of timidity (fear), but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
2nd Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
The Race of Faith
Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
God will not leave or forsake me. God’s unfailing help to keep us from fear.
Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as ye have for he hath said I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say The Lord is my helper and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Cast your care upon Him, He cares for you.
1st Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time Casting all your care upon him for he careth for you.
In a beautiful mix of images, the Lamb has always been the Shepherd.
Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him. His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness. Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.
These promises are all from God. Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone.
