About Joshua

The author of the Book of Joshua cannot be determined from the Scripture. Use of the pronouns "we" and "us" in 5:1, 6 supports the theory that the author must have been an eyewitness to some of the events that occurred during this period. Joshua 24:26 suggests that the author of at least large sections was Joshua himself. The Book of Joshua was written between 1400 and 1375 B.C.

Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success.

Promises From The Old Testament

No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him.  His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness.  Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.

These promises are all from God.  Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone.  So, as you read these, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how these promises reveal His character, purpose, plan and hope for your life and all those who are in Christ.
