The first verse of this book names it's author as Isaiah, the son of Amoz. The name "Isaiah" means "Yahweh Is Salvation." The Vision and prophecy are claimed four times by Isaiah: his name is mentioned an additional twelve times in the book. The book of Isaiah was written in about 700-690 B.C.
I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation".
Isaiah 12:2
Behold God is my salvation I will trust and not be afraid for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song he also is become my salvation.
Instruction from the Holy Spirit
Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying This is the way walk ye in it when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the left.
The Lord will give us strength in time of need.
Isaiah 40:29
He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint".
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint.
Be not dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not for I am with thee be not dismayed for I am thy God I will strengthen thee yea I will help thee yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
We do not need to fear for the Lord will be our helper when we are in need.
Isaiah 41:13
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto thee Fear not I will help thee.
Fear Not
Isaiah 43:1
But now thus saith the Lord that created thee O Jacob and he that formed thee O Israel Fear not for I have redeemed thee I have called thee by thy name thou art mine.
I will be with you
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee when thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
I can do anything! I will make a way.
Isaiah 43:19
Behold I will do a new thing now it shall spring forth shall ye not know it I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
God has already provided for redemption, even before the cross, but based on it alone. For those who turn from sin and return to Him, there is redemption (because the purchase price for the sinner was paid by the sacrifice of Christ).
Isaiah 44:22
I have blotted out as a thick cloud thy transgressions and as a cloud thy sins return unto me for I have redeemed thee.
By His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:4-6
Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows yet we did esteem him stricken smitten of God and afflicted But he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed All we like sheep have gone astray we have turned every one to his own way and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
God promises us that his love for us will not be shaken.
Isaiah 54:10
For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed but my kindness shall not depart from thee neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.
There is nothing that can be formed against us that the Lord cannot handle.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me saith the Lord.
In Christ and through the Holy Spirit, he has made a way to heal those who mourn over their sin and give to them the wholeness (peace).
Isaiah 57:18-19
I have seen his ways and will heal him I will lead him also and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips Peace peace to him that is far off and to him that is near saith the Lord and I will heal him.
The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul.
Isaiah 58:11
And the Lord shall guide thee continually and satisfy thy soul in drought and make fat thy bones and thou shalt be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.
The Lord will heal our broken hearts, set us free from bondage and bring light in darkness.
Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound
No matter how many promises are made, they are yes and amen in Christ. Keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the Law for righteousness and you are in him. His faithfulness qualifies you for any and all promises, not your ability to keep the Law or remain faithful. Now it's up to you to believe in your heart that you are in Him and He is your righteousness. Remember that you are a joint-heir with Jesus as you read thru these Old Testament promises.
These promises are all from God. Some are for a specific time, some for specific purpose, some for specific people and others are for everyone. So, as you read these, invite the Holy Spirit to show you how these promises reveal His character, purpose, plan and hope for your life and all those who are in Christ.
